Simpson Prize 2011


The History Teachers' Association of Australia (HTAA), together with HTAA State affiliates, conduct this competition for year 9 and 10 students on behalf of the Australian Government.

The focus of the competition is the Australian ANZAC tradition and students are asked to write an essay of 900 to 1200 words, or prepare an audio-visual presentation of not more than 15 minutes, on a given statement every year.

This year's statement is: 

"Has the ANZAC legend changed over 95 years?"
You should support your view with reference to at least 2 different periods of Australian history.

ENTRIES CLOSE DECEMBER 2010 (date TBC)
Please submit 3 copies of each entry accompanied by an official coversheet to your HTAA State affiliate's competition coordinator.
Note: A maximum of 3 entries per school may be submitted

    The Minister for Education, the Hon Julia Gillard, and the Minister for Veterans Affairs, the Hon Alan Griffin, presented presented the winners and runners-up with their prizes at Parliament House Canberra on 15 March 2010.

    Each State/Territory winner won the three day educational trip to Canberra and the trip to Gallipoli for the Anzac Day Service in 2010.

    TEACHER WINNERS
